Nancy Zieman was one special woman.
She is and was the nicest person I ever met.
She was so caring, supportive, encouraging and always so helpful and kind.
I was honored to work with her as a board member of the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts, and on her Sewing With Nancy Show.
I was saddened to get final emails from her in hospice.
But I was filled with strength and joy when those emails from her,
were still filled with the utmost of grace, love and strength on her final journey.
I hold her as a beacon, that I may follow that path in my own life until the end.
Nancy's show ran for 35 years on Public Television. She built an amazing business, had many tough circumstances of health, and lived her life with a joyful passion I hope I can find in my life. If you haven't read her
autobiography Seams Unlikely, I highly recommend it.
In this new Memoir, Richard Zieman, Nancy's husband, shares an intimate look into life with his beloved wife of 40 years. Just like all of us, at times Nancy endured seemingly impossible circumstances and challenges. Richard shares insights into being a caregiver, and the blessings of support from family and close friends, during the almost four months Nancy was in Hospice care. Readers learn the physical battles Nancy faced, especially during the last five years of her life, while always retaining her faith and rising above it all.
